FINAL REPORT (DRAFT) BY SANDIA LABORATORIES ON SYSTEMS INTERACTION Enclosed is the Final Report (Draft) by Sandia Laboratories on Phase I of Generic Task No. A-17, Systems Interaction in Nuclear Power Plants.
This report is currently being reviewed by the NRC staff with the expectation that we, the NRC staff and representatives of Sandia Laboratories, can meet with the Sub-Committee on Plant Arrangements to review the results achieved during Phase I of this task.
A large number of fault trees were developed by Sandia Laboratories during its study on systems interaction. These fault trees depict systems failures down to component level in many cases.
Therefore, the fault trees are rather detailed.
The fault tree diagrams are referred to in the Final Report. We have made available to you one copy of each of the fault tree diagrams for your files and office use. Additionally, we will make copies of the fault trees available to members of the Committee, its consultants, or your staff upon request to the Task Manager, John Angelo (FTS 8-492-8392).
