Engineering Branch Description of Task: Review Effects of Decontamination Process on System Materials Review Status: Complete The Engineering Branch, Division of Operating Reactors, has reviewed all the documents and infortnation supporting Commonwealth Edison's proposed chemical decontamination of Dresden Station Unit 1.
We have concluded that the Dresden Station Unit 1 can be safely decontaminated by chemical cleaning with the Dow process and safely returned to service, subject to resolution of the issues discussed in the SER conclusions. Our safety evaluation is attached.
