Dear Mr. Reid:

The purpose of this letter is to supply the NRC with additional information to meet the request of Mr. D. F. Ross regarding operator " hot" license and re-qualification training that incorporates lessons learned from TMI-2.

As per telephone conversation between your Bruce Wilson and our Jack Mau, we have modified our training programs to include added emphasis in the following:

1.

Thermodynamics 2.

Hydraulics 3.

Fluid Flow 4.

Heat Transfer 5.

Small Break Phenomenon 6.

Inadequate Cooling 7.

Transient Training to include loss of feedwater 8.

TMI-2 Sequence of Event Topic 8 will be included in all " hot" license training and the 1980 retraining program but will not be a specific topic of subsequent years of requalification training.

Sincerely Yours, 1707 199
