Gentlemen:
IE Bulletin 79-18 requires Licensees to detemine if present alarm systems are clearly audible or visible throughout all plant areas with special em-phasis on high-noise areas. To determine this, inspections of the facili-ties must be made while the units are operating.
The inspection of ANO-2 was scheduled for the week of September 9,1979, but due to a condenser problem the unit was shutdown during that time.
ANO-2 is now expected to reach 50 percent power by September 22, 1979.
At that time an inspection will be conducted to determine if there are any areas where the alams can-not be acknowledged.
As was discussed with our ISE site inspector we ex-pect to have our complete reply for both ANO-1 and 2 to you as soon after the 50 percent power level is reached as possible.
At this tive our scheduled date for response is October 10, 1979.
