Georgia Power Company hereby submits Amendment 5 to the report entitled " Spent Fuel Pool Modification" which was included as part of our July 9, 1979, application for expansion of the spent fuel storage capacity at Plant Hatch Units 1 and 2.
This amendment documents the results of our evaluations regarding fuel impact loads and fuel pool structural loads. This amendment also completes our responses to questions contained in your letters dated August 24, 1979, and September 28, 1979, and requests for additional information by your staff during the site visit on November 1, 1979.
Again, as discussed in our letter dated January 9, 1979, we wish to reiterate the need for your expeditious review and approval to allow installation of the high density spent fuel storage racks to begin by March 1980 in order to minimize personnel exposure to radiation. Please advise us if any additional information is needed by your staff to facilitate the timely completion of their review in order to support this schedule.
