Dear Mr. Wiesemann:

SUBJECT:

APPLICATION FOR WITHHOLDING INFORMATION FROM PUBLIC DISCLOSURE AW-77-60 By application AW-77-60 dated December 16, 1977 and affidavit AW-76-39 dated August 27, 1976, you requested that the Westinghouse report WCAP-9157 entitled " Environmental Qualification of Safety Related Class IE Process Instrumentation" be withheld from public disclosure pursuant to 10 CFR 2.790.

WCAP-9211, a non-proprietary version of the proprietary report, was submitted for placement in the Public Document Room.

The infomation sought to be withheld supplements proprietary material pre-viously submitted concerning environmental qualification of safety related ins truments. Our letter dated April 15, 1977 approved your request for withholding the previously submitted information from public disclosure.

For reasons stated in our April 15, 1977 letter, we have determined that the

~

proprietary report WCAP-9157 also should be withheld from public disclosure.

We, therefore, approve your request for withholding pursuant to Section 2.790 of 10 CFR Part 2 and are withholding WCAP-9157 from public inspection.

Withholding from public inspection shall not affect the right, if any, of persons properly and directly concerned to inspect the document.

If the need arises, we may send copies of this report to our consultants working in this area. We will assure that the consultants have signed the appropriate agree-ments for handling proprietary data.
