TENNESSEE VALLEY AUTHORITY CH ATTANOOGA. TENNESSEE 37401 DEC 2 71979 Director of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Attention: Mr. Donald E. Sells, Chief Environmental Projects Branch No. 2 Division of Site, Safety, and Environmental Analysis U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, DC 20555
Dear Mr. Sells:
In the Matter of the Application of
)
Docket Nos. 50-327 Tennessee Valley Authority
)
50-328 As a result of discussions between TVA and the NRC staff, we have prepared the following reports which are enclosed.
1.
A report on the status of the Sequoyah transmission line rights of way reclamation and revegetation since the completion of transmission line construction.
2.
A sound survey that represents preoperational sound levels, as well as predictive sound levels fer operation.
Although baseline sound levels are relatively high, sound from the transformers and cooling towers will sometimes be audible offsite. We do not believe the inclusion of a study and operational sound levels in the environmental technical specifications will provide any benefit.
In addition, there have been no formal noise complaints during the construction phase of the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant.
We will be glad to discuss the status of these reports further if necessary.
