4 ATTACHMENT Response to Items 1 thru 4 These items were addressed previously in Alabama Power Company's response to I. E.Bulletin 79-02 Rev. 1 and supplement 1 dated August 5, 1979.

Response to Item 5 In early November, 1979 a walkdown of Farley Nuclear Plant Unit 1 was performed in order to determine the extent of Seismic. Class I pipe supports attached to Loncrete block walls. No supports were found attached to block walls with expansion anchor bolts. One pipe support was found which was attached to a block wall using through-wall bolts with base plates on each side. The structural integrity of this wall and its capacity to withstand the pipe support loadings has been verified.

Response to Item 6 All concrete expansion anchors on pipe supports within the scope of the Farley Nuclear Plant Unit 1 79-02 program were tested, analyzed, and were replaced as necessary regardless of whether a base plate or structural steel member was used. For those supports using structural shapes, special analyses were performed to determine anchor bolt loadings. It is estimated that fewer than 1% of the supports at Farley Nuclear Plant Unit 1 were constructed in this manner.

Response to Item 7 All testing, analyses, and repairs of concrete expansion anchors within the scope of the Farley Nuclear Plant Unit 1 79-02 program were completed prior to Unit 1 returning to power operation November 5, 1979.
