Dear Mr. Dryer:
This is in reply to your letter dated November 27, 1979, in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) copies of documents concerning all aspects of the SL-1 incident.
In response to your request, we wish to inform you that in two previous F0IA requests identified as FOIA-79-ll2 (HUNTER), and F01A-79-124 (WILLIAMS),
copies of NRC documents relating to the SL-1 incident were placed in the NRC Public Doc 0 ment Room (PDR),1717 H Street, N.W., Washington, DC 20555, where they are available for public inspection and copying (.
The charge for reproducing record: located in:the PDR is eight cents $.08) per page, as specified in 10 CFR 9.14(a) of'the Commission's regulations (copy enclosed). Upon your direct request to the PDR and your agreement to pay the reproduction charges, the PDR will arrange for the record to be reproduced by Potomac Research, Inc., a private reproduction contractor servicing the PDR.
You will be billed directly by Potomac Research, Inc. for the reproduction charges plus tax and postage.
We have not located any additional documents which are subject to your request. We believe the Department of Energy may be your best source for documents relating to the SL-1 incident since that facility was not a licensed facility subject to the former AEC's regulatory activities which were transferred to the NRC in 1975.
This completes action on your request.
