PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION April 25, 1979 PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION OF SAFEGUARDS EVENT--
PNS-79-37 This oreliminary notification constitutes EARLY notice of events of POSSIBi.E national security or public interest significance.
The information presented is as initially received without verification or evaluation and is basically all that is known by IE staff as of this date.
FACILITY:
Pacific Gas and Electric Company Diablo Canyon Units Nos. I and 2 Docket Nos. 50-275 and 50-323 San Luis Obispo County, CA
SUBJECT:
B0MB THREATS On April 20,1979, at 6:49 a.m. PST and April 25, 1979, at 6"53 a.m. PST, an unknown male called the San Luis Obispo Sherriff's office and gave the following messages respectively:
"Three (3) bombs are set to go off at Diablo Canyon" and "Another bomb at Diablo".
In both instances the licensee was advised and conducted a search of the facility with negative resul ts.
Contractors were advised and given the option of leaving the site or coninuing to work. Media interest is not expected by the licensee and no press release is planned.
The State of California has been notified.
The IAT has been notified.
NRC, Region V (San Francisco) received telephone notification from the licensee at 7:29 a.m. PST on April 20,1979 and 8:55 a.m. PST on April 25, 1979.
