PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION April 12, 1979 PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION OF SAFEGUARDS EVENT--
PNS-79-32 This preliminary notification constitutes EARLY notice of events of POSSIBLE national security or public interest significance.
The information presented is as initially received without verification or evaluation and is basically all that is known by IE staff as of this date.

Pacific Ga., and Electric Company Diablo Canyon Units Nos.1 & 2 Docket Nos. 50-275 and 50-323 San Luis Obispo County, California
SUBJECT:
BOMB THREAT On April 11,1979, at 6:45 a'.m. PST, the Sheriff's Department of San Luis Obispo County, California received the following message by telephone:
"A bomb is going off at Diablo." The caller was an unknown individual and the voice was believed that of a male.
The licensee was advised and initiated a search.
Contractors were advised and given the option of leaving the site or continuing to work.
Media interest is not expected by the licensee and no press release is planned.
The State of California has been notified.
The IAT has been notified.
NRC, Region V (San Francisco) received telephone notification from the licensee at 10:56 a.m. PST, on April 11, 1979.
