ASSISTANCE Ifl OCONEE/MCGUIRE' HEARINGS T On October 31, 1979, the Atomic Safety and Licensing Boaqd (ASLB), for the subject hearing, issued an order requesting additional infonnation relative to a postulated cask drop accident. The information requested, involves a numerical analysis accomplished for the specifics of the McGuire spent fuel-pool. The analysis must consider structural, radiological and criticality aspects.
The Division of Operating Reactors (DOR) was requested to respond to supplement testimony which was given' at the hearings in Seotember. 00R has acknowledged our request and indicated they could reply with exception to some assistance needed in the area of criticality.
-I have toucheo%ase with Tou Carter and Don Nussbaumer as to the availability of Charlie Marotta to assist in this effort.
It is my understanding, per Charlie, that he could respond to our needs with the use of approximately five working days.
In addition, one to two days may be required at the next hearing session ( yet unscheduled) which will probably be held at Charlotte, North Carolina.

Due to the need to file our response with the ASLB prior to this hearing reconvening,
.j we have :~rquested a completion date of December 14, 1979.
I would like to confirm the availability of Mr. Marotta, and that he could also meet this date.
