REPORT MONTH November 1979 SIED!ARY OF OPERATING EXPERIENCES Highlights Vermor.t Yankee operated at 79.7% of rated thermal power for the month of November, 1979. Gross electrical generation for the month was 310,002 MWHe, or 79.7% of design electrical capacity.

Operations Summary The following is a chronological description of plant operations including other pertinent items of interest for the month:

11-1 At the beginning of this report period, the plant was in the shutdown mode for refueling.

11-2 At 1445 hours0.0167 days <br />0.401 hours <br />0.00239 weeks <br />5.498225e-4 months <br />, the reactor achieved criticality, ending the scheduled refueling outage. The generator was phased to the grid at 2143 hours0.0248 days <br />0.595 hours <br />0.00354 weeks <br />8.154115e-4 months <br /> on 11-3.

11-19 At 2201 hours0.0255 days <br />0.611 hours <br />0.00364 weeks <br />8.374805e-4 months <br /> the reactor automatically scra=med due to con-tractor personnel inadvertantly striking a protection system instrument panel.

11-20 The reactor was critical beginning at 0602 hours0.00697 days <br />0.167 hours <br />9.953704e-4 weeks <br />2.29061e-4 months <br />, and the generator was phased to the grid at 1102 hours0.0128 days <br />0.306 hours <br />0.00182 weeks <br />4.19311e-4 months <br />.

11-30 At the conclusion of this report period, the plant was operating at 99% of rated thermal power.
