Dear Mr. Keppler:

In response to IE Bulletin No. 79-23, Public Service Company of Indiana, Inc. (PSI) has determined that the reported problem does not apply to the Marble Hill diesel generators.

The Marble Hill diesel generators employ a static excitation system which obtains power via a single phase, ungrounded transformer fed from the generator output. This system and configuration presents no low impedance path for circulating third harmonic currents as described in the subject bulletin.
