Dear Clarence:

In our phone conversation of 25 October 1979 you requested any additional information I could provide on fishes having physiological defects which were reported in the August and September 1979 progress reports. After reviewing the raw data for August and September collected in the trapnet and seine programs, six fish wl.th these defects were found. All pertinent information follows:

1.

One adult brown bullhead with an ulcer on the abdomen was taken by trapnet on 28 August at Station 11A2 (20 m below the TMINS Discharge). It measured 341 mm (fork length, FL) and weighed 680 g.

2.

One young smallmouth bass with an eroded right pelvic fin was taken by seine on 29 August at Station 10B5 (Southwest shore of York Haven Pond). Its length frequency was 76-80 m FL.

All fish taken by seine are measured to the nearest length frequency interval and weighed together. Therefore, individual weights cannot be easily determined.

3.

One young swallowtail shiner with a bent spine was taken by seine on 12 September at Station 16Al (West shore of TMI, upstream of the Discharge). Its length frequency was 16-20 m FL.

4.

One young spotfin shiner with a right popeye was taken by seine on 12 September at Station 16A1. Its length frequency was 31-35 m FL.

5.

One juvenile bluntnose minnow with spinal curvature was taken by seine on 24 September at Station 10B5. Its length frequency was 36-40 m FL.

One young smallmouth bass with an eroded left pelvic.

fin was taken by seine on 24 Se tember at Station 13B5 (Northwest shore of York Haven and). Its length frequency was 56-60 m FL.

I hope this helps. If you should have any question on the above please feel free to call.
