PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION OF SAFEGUARDS EVENT--PNS-79-64 This preliminary notification constitutes EARLY notice of events of POSSIBLE national security or public interest significance.
The information presented is as initially received without verification or evaluation and is basically all that is known by IE staff as of this date.
FACILITY:
Public Service Company of Colorado Fort St. Vrain Power Plant Platteville, Colorado Docket No. 50-267
SUBJECT:
UNAUTHORIZED INDIVIDUALS AT PROTECTED AREA FENCE At 4:00 a.m. on June 22, 1979, an automobile was observed in the isolation area just outside the protected area fence.
Plant Security personnel responded.
Upon arrival, a male individual was observed to be standing on the hood of the automobile with his hands on the protected area fence.
Upon questioning, the individual indicated that he was taking photographs and was writing a s to ry.
The individual had a New York State drivers license and was accompanied by a female without available identification. The Security personnel indicated to the individuals that they were trespassing and were asked to 1. cave, with which the individuals departed.
The Public Service Company of Colorado notified the Weld County Sheriff's Office for investigation.
No press release is planned.
