As of the present time there are thirty ASCO solenoid valves in u in safety related systems at TMI-1.
Response 2:
'ine safety systems which the abc<re =entioned valves are a part of include: Makeup and purification, core flood, intermediate cooling, nuclear services closed cycle cooling, chemical addition, vaste disposal-liquid, contain=ent monitoring, air handling, industrial coolant system,vaste disposal - gas and sampling.
There are no ASCO solenoid valves in use at T'4I-1 which could be subjected to a LOCA environ =ent.
Prior to TMI-1 startup or by April 30, 1980, whichever is first, we vill have a pretentive maintenance program such that the solenoid coil, the manual operator (if applicable) and the resilier,t part of the valve are being replaced in accordance with the time period established by the manufacturer and documented as the qualified lif e of the assembled component.
