ORDER (September 24,1979)
In a letter dated September 16, 1979, Ms. Gertrude Barnstone requested an extension of time from September 14, 1979 to October 5, 1979 within which to submit her contentions.
In our Order Scheduling Special Prehearing Conference dated August 6, 1979 (44 Fed. Reg. 47653, August 14, 1979), we notified Ms.
Barnstone, as well as all other petitioners who had filed petitions for leave to intervene pursuant to our Supplementary Notice of Intervention Procedures 1/
dated June 12, 1979 (44 Fed. Reg. 35062, June 18, 1979)7 that supplamentary lists of contentions should be filed by September 14, 1979.
~
Contrary to 10 C.F.R. & 2.714(b), Ms. Barnstone has failed to show good cause for failure to file on time.
She merely states that she was unable to file her contentions by September 14th because of " press of professional commit-ments". Other than this barren statement, she does not tell us what these professional commitments were and in what manner they precluded a timely filing in the instant proceeding.
Moreover, Ms. Barnstone has not discussed the four 1/ Ms. Barnstone filed a petition for leave to intervene on July 16, 1979.

. other factors alluded to in 5 2.714(b) which would have assisted us in deter-mining whether to entertain her untimely filing.-2/
Accordingly, Ms. Barnstone's request for an extension of time is denied and her petition for leave to intervene is denied.
Pursuant to 10 C.F.R. 5 2.715(a), she may make a limited appearance statement at a time to be scheduled at a later date.
Pursuant to 3 2.714a, within ten (10) days after the service of this Order, Ms. Barnstone may appeal this Order denying her petition for leave to intervene to the Atomic Safety and Licensing Appeal Board.
