Boston Edisor. Company has applied to the AEC for a permit to build a nuclear power plant at Plymouth.

The facility, to be known as the Pilgrim Nuc1 car Power Station, would use a boiling water reactor with an initial capacity of approximately 625,000 net electrical kilowatts.

It would be located on the company's 517-acre site on the western shore of Cape Cod Bay in the Town of Plymouth, about 36 miles southeast of General Electric Company would furnish the complete nuclear Boston.

Westinghouse Electric Corporation would furnish the nuclear steam supply systems and turbine generators. The balance of each unit would be designed and constructed by VEPCO with the assistance of Stone & Webster Engineering Corporation.

A public hearing to consider the application will be conducted soon by an Atomic Safety and Licensing Board in the vicinity of the proposed facility.

Metropolitan Edison Company of Reading, Pennsylvania, has applied for a permit to build a pressurized water reactor with an initial gross electrical output of 845,000 kilowatts.

It would be located on Three Mile Island near the east shore of the Susquehanna River above York Haven dam.

The, site is in Londonderry Township of Dauphin County about 10 miles southeast of Harrisburg.

Babcock & Wilcox Company will furnish j

t the nuclear steam supply system, Gilbert Associates, Inc. will be architect-engineer for the project and United Engineers and Constructors, Inc. will manage construction of the plant.

The ACRS report, the second on this project, concerns recent amendments to the application relating to the location of the Olmstead State Airport near the site of the pro-i posed facility. A public hearing on this application.before an Atocic Safety and Licenstag Board began on April 10 in Middletown.

Copies of the ACRS reports are attached.
