Dear Mr. Bauser:
The Atomic Energy Commission hea submitted to the Office of the Federal Register for filing and publication a notice (copy enclosed) relating to the consideration of issuance of a facility operating license which would authorize the Metropolitan Edison Company, Jersey Central Power and Light Conpany, and Pennsylvania Electric Company, as co-licensees, to possess, use, and operate the Three Mile Isised Nuclear Station Unit 1 pressurized water type nuclear power reactor on tha applicants' site located in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
As stated in the notics, reactor operation wk i be authorized at steady stata power levels not to exceed 2535 megawatts (thermal) in accordance with the provisions of the license and the Tech 4e=1 SpecificaPior.2 appended thereto, upon the submission of a favorable safety evaluation of the application by the Directorate of Licensing, the completion of the environmental review required by the Constission's reguhtions in 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix D and a finding by the Comission that the application for the facility license (as amended) complies v1C the requirements of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as==anded, and the Comnission's regulations in 10 CFR Chapter 1.
