Dear Mr. Conway:
The Atomic Energy Comission has issued Provisional Construction Permit No. CPPR-40 to Metropolitan Edison Company for the construc-tion of a pressurized water nuclear reactor designated as the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station on the company's site on Three Mile Island in the Susquehanna River in Londonderry Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, approximately ten miles southeast of Harris-burg, Pennsylvania.
A copy of the construction permit is enclosed together with a related notice which has been transmitted to the Office of the Federal Register for filing and publication.
The permit has been issued pursuant to the Initial Decision of the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board. A copy of the decision is also enclosed.
