i AMD ::G.",TI','E DECLA".ATICM The U. S. liuclear Regulatory Ccamission (the Commission) has issued Amendment i;o. 34 to Facility Operating License t'o. DPR-50, issued to Metropolitan Ediscn Ccmpany, Jersey Central Power and Light Conpany, and Pennsylvania Electric Conpany (the licensees), which revised Technical Specificaticns for operation of the Three 14ile Island I!uclear Station, Unit I!o.1 (TMI-1) located in Dauphir. County, Pennsylvania.
The amendaent is effective as of its date of issuance.
The amendment' authorizes modification of Spent Fuel Pool "B"
at Tiil-1, increasing its capacity frca 174 fuel assemblies to 496 fuel assemblies, and revises the Technical Specifications appropriately.
The application for the amendment complies with the standards and requirements of the f.tomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act) and the Corm.ission's rules and regulations.
The Conmission has nade apnropriate findings as required by the Act and the Comission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the license amendment.

The Ccmission has prepared an environmental impact appraisal for this action and has concluded that an environmental impact statement is not warranted because there will be no significant environmental impact attributable to the action other than that which has already been predicted and described in the Cctmission's Final Environmental State-ment for the facility dated December 1972.
For further details with respect to this action, see (1) the application for amendment dated February 3,1977, as supplemented flay 24 and July 21, 1977, (2) Amendment tlo. 34 to License !!o. DPR-50, (3) the Comission's related Safety Evaluation, and (4) the Commission's Environmental Impact Appraisal.
