DOCKET NO. 50-289 The attached report of the inspection of the Metropolitan Edison Company, Three bille Island No. 1 construction site, conducted August 26 through 28, 1970, is forwarded for information.
The inspection consisted of a detail review of portions of the QC system for reactor coolant piping welding, reactor coolant piping system procurement docu-ments and electrical cable and terminations.
One item of nonconformance was identified. The contractor engaged to perform all NITI of pipe welding at the site did not have NDT procedures which were qualified to the FSAR code comitments. A Construction Deficiency Notice is being prepared.
