Note to Mr. Price SUaIECT: DEFERRING EARLY NOTICE IN 'IEREE MIII ISIAND (METRCPOLITXi EDISON COMPANY, JERSEY CD'IRAL POWER & LIGHT COiPANY, AND PENNSYLVANIA ELEC'IRIC COTANY, APPLICANTS)

My memoranda of March 23 and April 12, 1971, on issuance of early notices of hearing indicated that the Three Mile Island application was among several considered ripe for early notice on the basis of DRL's estimated dates for ACRS meetings. The applicants are in favor of prompt issuance of such a notice. However, DRL has advised us that issuance of the notice should be deferred because the facility is not expected to be ready for fuel-loading before November 1972.
