Your mete included reco a ndations for:
a) explicit requirceents in
Environmental Technical Specifications; b) review of the preoperational
environmental conitoring prc ; ram to assure useful data vill be cbtained,
and c) establishing a firm understanding with Licensing that changes in
programs require review, approval, and documentation by the licensee.
Ihase recocur.andations regarding Three Mile Island are good ones and
they are equally pertinent to other facilities; therefore, we are
includi.2g them in the list of items we have to discuss with Reactor Licen-
sing's Environmental Projects the end of this month.
Recent response by Envirocrantal Projects to comments and reco=mendations
received from the Regional Officos has been encouraging. We expect that
the areas of concern we have listed for discussion, some of which you
have covered in your memo, will be resolved.
We are elosing out this action item but I want to assure you the issues
will be taken up with Licensing.
Please call me on extension 7413 if you have any questions.
