REACTOR TRIP RESULTING FROM FAULTY PRESSURE TRANSMITTER s4 At' 5:17 p.m. on 'Jgej l2,1979, while operating at 100% power, the Rancho Seco Nuclear Station experienced a turbine trip-reactor trip as a result of a faulty pressure transmitter on the "D" turbine reheater.
The faulty transmi'tter was replaced and the f acility has been returned to power.
As of 8:30 a.m. on July 13,1979, the facility was at 60% power and being returned to 100% power.
Media interest is expected.
The licensee does not plan to issue a news release.
A neas release is not planned by the NRC.
NRC Headquarters received notification of this occurrence from the licensee via the NRC dedicated telephone line at 5:26 p.m. on June 12, 1979.
