ANNOUNCED DEMONSTRATION AUGUST 5, 1979 AGAINST DAVIS-BESSE News releases made on July 13, 1979, indicate the Toledo Coalition for Safe Energy is taking the lead in organizing an anti nuclear protest against Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station.
The' demonstration is planned for August 5, 19~79, and is to coincide with the International Nagasaki-Hiroshima Days of Protest.
The demonstration will begin at Crane Creek State Park, located 4 miles west of Davis-Besse.
Dr. John Gofman will be the featured speaker.
When making the news release, Mike Ferner, a spokesman for the Coalition also announced a noon protest at Lewis Square in Toledo on July 17, 1979, and a 10:00 p.m. candlelight vigil at the Plaza on July 17, 1979, and answered questions from media representatives.
News media interest in matters relating to the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station has been high in the Toledo area.
Region III received notification from the RIII inspector on-site of the news releases approximately 2:00 p.m., July 13, 1979.
