Subject:
SMALL FIRE IN CONTAINMENT BUILDING FOR UNIT 1 On' July 16, 1979, a small fire occurred in the Unit I containment building.
The fire was started by sparks from welding activities.
Damage was limited to scaffolding and there was no damage to safety related equipment or" struc-tures.
The fire was extinguished by onsite personnel.
Neither tt: licensee nor Region III plans to issue press release.
The State of Chic has been informed.
RIII was informed of the occurrence at 11:30 a.m., on July 16, 1979.
