PETITION TO REV0KE CONSTRUCTION PERMIT A petition has been received to revoke the Seabrook construction permit for the following stated reasons: lack of safe and responsible nuclear waste storage method; desire not to be exposed to low level radiation; and the cooling system is not proven safe for the environment.
The petition bears the names of 25 persons from various states.
It was forwarded to NRC from the Clamshell Alliance.
This Preliminary Notification is issued for information only.
Media interest is expected because of the continuing controversy regarding Seabrook.
The State of New Hampshire has been informed.
A press release is not planned by NRC.
No information is available concerning who else may have received copies of the petition.
NRC, Region I (Philadelphia) received this petition by letter from the Clamshell Alliance on March 26, 1979.
