PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION September 10, 1979 PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION OF EVENT OR UNUSUAL OCCURRENCE--PNO-79-410 This preliminary notification constitutes EARLY notice of events of POSSIBLE safety or public interest significance.
The information presented is as initially received without verification or evaluation and is basically all that is known by IE staff on this date.

Subject:
ALLEGEDFALSIFIUATIONOFQUALITYRECORDS On September 7,1979, a RIII inspector was told by a PSI QC Engineer that he' had received a note in December 1978 that the supervisor of the site concrete Testing Laboratory and others were responsible for falsifying the Fly Ash Testing records.
PSI responded to the allegation contained in the note, which was denied by the Testing Lab supervisor, by conducting an audit of the matter.
The allegations were not substantiated by.he PSI audit.
NRC, Region III is continuing its investigation into this and other allegations concerning the concrete testing laboratory.
Neither the licensee nor the NRC plans a press release.
NRC, Region III (Chicago) was informed of this incident at 2:30 p.m.,
September 7, 1979.
The State of Indiana will be notified of this matter.
