SUBJECT:
APPARENT EXPOSURE OF RADIOGRAPHER IN EXCESS OF LIMITS A radiographer employed by the licensee received an apparent whole body exposure of 8 rems as recorded by film dosimeters worn by the individual during the third quarter of 1979.
The radiographer apparently received 4 rems exposure from X-Ray machine work performed during July,1979 and an additional 4 rems exposure from work with an Ir-192 source during August, 1979.
Region IV (Dallas) received notification of the incident by telephone ' rom the Assistant Radiation Safety Director of Consolidated X-Ray Service at 12:15 pm on September 4, 1979.
The licensee is investigating the incident and will file a report.
RIV will further investigate.
