SUBJECT:
ALLEGED. EXCESSIVE EXPOSURE TO PERSONNEL TVA found a copy of a letter on the refueling floor of Unit 3 which claimed that two workers had received excessive exposure, 210 millirem and 240 millirem, respectively, during refueling operations last week.
The letter also claimed that TVA caused the exposures when procedures were violated.
The resident inspector is pursuing further details.
There has been local media interest.
The licensee is responding to questions from the Decatur newspaper.
The NRC is not planning a news release.
The State of Alabama has been informed.
Regional II (Atlanta) received notification of this occurrence by telephone from TVA at 3:00 p.m. on September 4,1979.
