Thank you for your letter dated July 19, 1979, informing us of the steps you have taken to correct the noncompliance identified in our letter dated July 2, 1979. We will examine your corrective action during a future inspection.
In reference to your inquiry for the Radiation Protection Officer (RPO) to delegate the performance of the weekly survey of the isotope storage area; this is acceptable in accordance with our telephone conversation with you on July 20, 1979.
Based upon this, we understand that you will amend your license to state the RPO or a delegated radiographer will perform the weekly survey of the isotope storage area.
In addition, we also understand that until your license is amended, the surveys will be performed by the RPO.
Please notify us immediately if our understanding is not correct.
