RESOLUTION TO SPR-144-00 The acceptance criteria for ES actuated HPI flow are:
The 250 gpm per line minimum flowrate is based on the ECCS analysis assump. tion of 220 gpm at 600 psig RCS pressure plus 30 gpm as an allowance fo,r system degradation.
The 550 gpm maximum flowrate is based on the runout flowrate of the HPI pumps.
The flowrates for the "A" and "B" HPI pumps as balanced by Met Ed are:
HPI Pumo MU-V-16A MU-V-16B Total "A"

266.9 242.4 509.3 It is recommended by ECCS Analysis that MU-V-16A be closed slightly to force flow through MU-V-16B.
It is recognized, however, that the " fine tuning" of these valves is delicate and cannot be done while the pumps are running.
Therefore, the above values are acceptable to ECCS Analysis because the flow-rates are above the 220 gpm assumed in the analysis and the 509.3 gpm minimum pump flowrate is more than twice the 250 minimum.
