May 23, 1979 Docket No. 50-309 LICENSEE:
Yankee Atomic Electric Ccmpany FACILITY: Maine Yankee Nuclear Power Station
SUBJECT:
SUMMARY
OF MEETING HELD ON MAY 1, 1979 REGARDING SHOCK 0 COMPUTER CODES During our meeting with the licensee on April 20, 1979, Stone and Webster (S&W) indicated that more than one version of the Shock 1 computer code may have been used at Maine Yankee. We met with the licensee and S&W on May 1, 1979 to discuss the versions of Shock 1.
A list of attendees is enclosed.
The licensee stated that three versions of Shock 1 (referred to as Shock 0) preceeded the version of Shock 1 previously identified with Maine Yankee.
These three versions of Shock 0 had been used for 70 Maine Yankee safety related piping analyses. No listings of these versions are available.
Seven comparative analyses were performed between Shock 0 and Shock 1.
The licensee stated that Shock 0 and Shock 1 were compatable, with results within FSAR allowables.
The licensee stated that Shock 0 - Shock 1 comparisons representing all three versions of Shock 0 should be completed by the end of the week and would be provided to the NRC staff. We requested that at least one comparison with NUPIPE-SW for each version of Shock 0 also be perfonned.
