Dear Senator Byrd:

By note dated December 7,1978, you forwarded a copy of a letter from Mrs. P. M. Allen to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, dated November 1, 1978.

Mrs. Allen's letter had requested the Commission to revoke the Virginia Electric and Power Company's licenses to operate i; orth Anna Units lio. I and 2.

The Commission, through Mr. John G. Davis, Acting Director of the Office of Inspection and Enforcement, has responded to Mrs. Allen, acknowledging receipt of the recuest, and enclosing a copy of the Notice published in the Federal Register.

Copies of these documents are enclosed for your use.

An investigation is now underway to determine the substance and accuracy of the allegations made in su;: cort of Mrs. Allen's request.

. Men the investigation is completed, the i;RC will determine what further action should be taken.
