ISSUANCEOFSUPPLEMENTN0.3TOTHESALEMNUCLbR GENERATING STATION, UNIT 2 Sixteen copies of Supplement No. 3 to the Safety Evaluation Report prepared by the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation in the matter of the application filed by the Public Service Electric and Gas Company for a license to operate 1.he Salem Nuclear Generating Station, Unit 2 are enclosed for review by the Committee.
Nine issues remain outstanding. These issues are identified in Section 1.7 of the supplement.
Six of these issues represent items for which additional information is required from the applicant, three of these issues represent items for which our evaluat'on is not complete. We will require resolution of all issues prior to a decision on issuance of an operating license.
There are 11 issues for which we have completed our review and have deter-mined positions which are acceptable to the staff. The applicants have been advised of our positions and we are awaiting confirmation of the applicants intent to comply with these positions.
These issues are identified in Section 1.8 of the supplement.
