50-328 We have received your October 17, 1979, letter to H. G. Parris on the subject of " Environmental Qualification of Class IE Instrumentation and Electrical Equipment." TVA was requested to provide additional informa-tion on Sequoyah Nuclear Plant addressing the two items specified in your enclosure.

The NRC requested in item 1 that TVA provide a table listing all Class IE safety-related equipment and appropriate qualification-related data for this equipment. This table would include all equipment located both inside and outside of containment including balance-of-plant and nuclear steam system supplied equipment. TVA will provide this information according to the following schedule.

Equipment inside containment January 11, 1980 Equipment outside containment 1.

Which could be subjected -

February 15. 1980 to adverse environment (RELB) 2.

All other equipment April 1, 1980 The NRC requested in item 2 that TVA conduct an evaluation of electrical equipment to define a list of materials which have the potential of significant aging mechanisms.

TVA is engaged in an industrial effort to develop a consistent and meaningful approach to this_ investigation.

The details concerning the schedule for conducting the investigation and submitting a report will be provided by December 7, 1979.
