!GDLMID PROJECT DOCKET N0 50-329, 50-330 IE BULLL' TIN 79-23 FILE: 0505.12 UFI : 99*02*05*10 SERI AL: 76h8 We have reviewed IE Bulletin 79-23 on the subject of " Potential Failure of Emergency Diesel Generator Field Exciter Transformer" and the following response is provided.

1. We have reviewed and confirmed that the primary windings of the excitation transformer neutral are not grounded and are electrically floating. This will be further verified during electrical checkout of the excitation transformer by the CPCo Testing organization.
2. The sustained full-load operation test of the EDC's for a duration of not less than 2h hours will be performed during the Preoperational Test Progran prior to fuel load. The test will be in accordance with Reg Guide 1.106, 08-77 Position C.2.a.3 as specified in !!idland FCAR Appendix 3A and Test Abstract lhA.1.k2. .
