This letter is our final report on this subject.

The production equipment at Inryco's Wiremil facility was modified to eliminate the sources of unacceptable wire length variations in the manufacturing process.

On August 27, 1979, a Quality Control Inspection procedure for tendon vire length verification was implemented at the Wiremil facility. Other improvements were made in Wiremil's Quality Program prior to the release for continued production. CPCo and Dechtel Quality Assurance personnel visited Inryco's Melrose Park and Wiremil facilities on August 21 and September 27, 1979, respectively. Their Quality Programs were revieved and determined to be effectively implemented.

The seven nonconfbrma installed vertical tendons have been removed from Unit 2 and scrapped. All other tendCns previously identified as nonconfoming I

2 Howe-281-79 or indeterminate have been zmoved from t'ae Midland Site and have been returned to Inryeo. Therefore, the Midland Site is now in compliance in this regard.
