SUBJECT:

MEETING MINUTES - EQUIPMENT DYNAMIC QUALIFICATION IN LASALLE PLANT A meeting with Comonwealth Edison Company was held in Bethesda, Md. on October 23, 1979. The purpose of the meeting was.a status review of equipmer.1, dynamic qualification, and a discussion of the applicant's reevaluation program of the NSSS equipment for seismic and hydrodynamic loads.

The meeting concluded the following:

1.

Staff review of the NSSS and BOP equipment programs will be conducted in a time sequence which will focus on the BOP first.

2.

For BOP equipment, the applicant indicated that the qualification program is near completion and he is ready to provide detailed information on the 26 sample items selected by the staff for site audit.

3.

For NSSS equipment, the applicant indicated that Sargent and Lundy will carry out the reevaluation program to ensure that the new seismic requirements are met and the new hydrodynamic loads are considered.

The reevaluation program was presented (see enclosure A). The program is intended to be completed at the end of this year. To expedite staff review, the staff audit will be phased to permit the review of information as it becomes available.

4.

The applicant will conduct in plant SRY tests. Response at several equipment locations will be monitored for confirmation purposes. The applicant will submit the monitoring program for staff review as soon as it becomes available.

5.

The applicant will submit an overall schedule for equipment qualification within the next several weeks.

6.

The applicant submitted M copies of a document entitled, " Seismic Qualification Status, Rev. E', 10/23/79, EMD No. 020279, for staff reviews.
