Dear Sir:

Subject:

Supplemental Response to I&E Bulletin 79-03 The following additional information is provided relative to I&E Bulletin No. 79-03.

The Maine Ycnkee piping specification requires that only seamless A376 or A312 stainless steel pipe, or seam welded A358 Class I pipe be used at Maine Yankee. Additionally, a review of all piping purchases made prior to and during actual plant construction indicates that all piping supplied by the Youngstown Welding and Engineering Company was of the seamless type. Thus, no seam welded A312 pipe would be installed at !!aine Yankee.

We trust this resolves the outstanding issue regarding I&E Bulletin No. 79-03.

Should you have any additional questions, please contact us.

Very truly yours, MAINE YANKEE ATOMIC POWER COMPANY Robert H. Groce Licensing Engineer JRH/smw 1281 7911010 00\\
