'wv+. we Memorandum to the File AMENDMENT TO LICENSE APPLICATION NO. XSNM01045 License XSNM01045 was issued on July 21, 1977 to Westinghouse Electric Corporation, authorizing the export of 15,973 kilograms of uranium containing 548 kilograms of U-235 for the JOSE CACRERA reactor in Zorita, Spain. The first export of 20 fuel assemblies occurred under this license on December 1,1978 and the second shipment of 20 assemblies was made February 11, 1979. The total material involved in these two shipments was 10,740 kilograms of uranium containing 367.8 kilograms of U-235.
On September 7,1979, a Westinghouse representative called to advise that the third shipment of fuel was scheduled for late October,1979, but because of slight variances between the estimated quantity of material originally anticipated at the time the original export application was submitted in November 1976 and the actual quantity incorporated into the finished fuel assemblies, an increase of 250 kilo-grams of uranium containing 8 kilograms of U-235 would be required to allow the final shipment to be exported. The telephone request was followed by a written request for a license amendment on September 12. The quantity of additior,a1 material is a minor increase to an existing license and does not represent a sub-stantial change in the overall quantity initially authorized for export.
For this reason this request may be processed at the staff level.
