Dear Mr. Helfrich:
Transmitted herewith for your information is a letter dated October 11, 1979 from Gladstone Liang of Gladix Corporation requesting us to continue processing export app'ication XCOM0074 for zircaloy tubes to Taiwan as the material is still required by the client. This understanding, of course, is contrary to the infortnaticn contained in a letter dated August 27, 1979 from the Cuordination Council for North American Affairs, the local office responsible for handling the affairs of the authorities on Taiwan in the U.S., which stated that the order for the tubes had been cancelled by the client.
In view of this new information, we request the Executive Branch to continue its review of this application as set forth in our earlier letter dated September 29, 978.
