Enclosed please find an application from American Atomics Corporation for a license to export a total of 200,000 curies of tritium for a one-year period to Condition 2 Countries. The tritium will be contained in sealed gaseous tritium luminous sources for use in timepieces and instruments.
You will note that this request is identical to ifcer.se XB000873 which expired on September 1,1979.
Before taking action on this license application, we would appreciate your views, in accordance with established procedures and from.the overall perspe tive of the Executive Branch, as to whether the issuance o.f the requested li._ sase would be inimical to the interests of the United States, including the common defense and security, and whether the proposed export meets,the applicable criteria in the Atomic Energy Act as amended by the Nuclear 1lonproliferation Act of 1978.
