Tube Turns Division of Chemetron Docket No. 99900267/79-02 NOTICE OF DEVIATION Based on the results of an NRC inspection conducted on August 13-17, 1979, it appears that one of your activities was not conducted in accordance with NRC requirements.
Criterica 7 of Appendix B to 10 CFR 50 states:
" Activities affecting quality shall be prescribed by documented instructions, procedures, or drawings, of a type appropriate to the circumstances and shall be accomplished in accordance with these instructions, procedures, or drawings.
Instructions, pro-cedures, or drawings sh< 11 include appropriate quantitative or qualitative acceptance c.-iteria for determining that important activities have been saticfactorily accomplished."
The deviation from these requiremen's is as follows:
The shop procedure TTH0-24-00'., Revision 1, " Control of We' ding Supplies", paragraph 4.2.1 scates, "Upon release by Quality Control, Welding Materials (Electrode, Wire and Flux) are forwarded to the welding materials storage building where they are maintained in a controlled atmosphere in excess of 100 F, with a maximum of 50%
humidity."
Contrary to the above, observation 01 m humidity indicator in the velding materials storage building showed that the humidity was being maintained at 60%.
