S. fiUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION THIS SUPPLEMEliTAL AGREEMEfiT, effective the 1st day of September,19 79, by and between the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (hereinafter referred to as the
" Government"), as represented by the UNITED STATES f!UCLEAR REGULATORY COMMIS-510N (hereinafter referred to as the " Commission"), and SAlffT LOUIS UNIVERSITY (hereinafter referred to as the " Contractor"),

04-78-251 as hereinafter WHEREAS, the parties aesire to modify Contract No. f!RC-provided, and this supplemental agreement is authorized by law, including the Energy Reorganization Act of 1974, as amended, and the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended.
fl0W, THEREFORE, said contract is hereby modified as follows:
1.
Appendix A, attached to this supplemental agreement and made a part hereof, provides for the research to be performed by the Contractor during the contract period specified therein.
2.
In Article II - The Period of Performance, the date " August 31, 1980 a
is substituted for the date " August 31, 1979 3.
In Article III - Consideration, the sum "$ 87,815.00 " is substituted for the sum "$ 45,255.00".

SAINT LOUIS UNIVERSITY APPENDIX A For the Contract period September 1,1979 through August 31, 1980 Article A-I RESEARCH TO BE PERFORMED BY CONTRACTOR (a)
The unclassified scope of work under this contract entitled, " Coordination of a Cooperative Seismotectonic Study in the New Madrid Area" is as follows:
1.
Maintain contact with participating agencies in order to assemble and integrate maps and data, encourage preparation of topical reports, and assist research projects wherever possible.
2.
Maintain conmunication with the most able researchers in the area in order to coordinate research proposals for reasonable geological, geophysical, and seismological studies that will con-tribute information bearing on the seismic and tectonic conditions of the area.
3.
Collect literature, maps, and geophysical records from all sources and n.ake them available to the applicable researchers.
4.
Serve as liaison between the participating agencies and the U.S.N.R.C. and also among the participating agencies.
Regular newsnotes keep each organization informed of plans and progress.
5.
Organize a seminar during which the progress of research in the area will be reviewed.
The 1979 seminar was held in Mountain View, Arkansas, during April; participating organizations, U.S.N.R.C.,
and U.S.G.S. persontnl attended.
6.
Field ch ck significant faults in the area to ascertain their presence and location, and to establish best me.thods for dating age of last movements.
7.
Prepare, with other authors, geologic and structure, maps based on the latest data available in each state within our area of study.

The Principal Investigator expects to devote the following approximate amount (s) of time to the contract work:
