Docket No. 30-7026 AUG 3 1 !!79 RSA Corporation ATTN: Mr. Martin H. Stein President U.S. Highway 46 and Schley Street Dover, New Jersey 07801 Gentlemen:

Subject:

Inspection 30-7026/79-01 This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. B. O'Neill and Ms. M. Campbell of this office on August 1,1979 of activities authorized by NRC License No. 29-13848-01 and to the discussions of our findings held by Mr. O'Neill and Ms. M. Campbell with yourself and Mr. E. O'Sullivan of your staff at the conclusion of the irspection.

The inspection was an examination of activities conducted under your license as they relate to radiation safety and to compliance with the Conmission's rules and regulations and the conditions of your license.

The inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, measurements made by the inspector, and observations by the inspector.

In addition, the inspectors took water samples of your irradiation pool and smear samples inside the irradiator area.

Those samples were analyzed in the Regional Office Laboratory in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.

The basic purpose of these independent measurements was to verify your capability to determine the presence of leaking sealed sources and to analyze removable contamination.

The results of our analyses indicate compliance with Conditions 13 and 17 of your license but were not in complete agreement with your analyses. We will review this matter during the next inspection of your licensed program.

Within the scope of this inspection, no items of noncompliance were observed.

In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter will be placed in the Public Document Room.
