Dear Mr. Keppler:

IE BULLETIN 79-14 DOCKETS 50-266 and 50-301 POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANT, UNITS 1 and 2 IE Bulletin 79-14 entitled, " Seismic Analysis for As-Built Safety-Related Piping Systems" dated July 2, 1979 requested that within 60 days of the date of the Bulletin, we submit a description of the results of our inspection of normally accessible safety-related piping systems to verify that the seismic analysis applies to the actual configuration of the piping systems.

We have retained Bechtel Power Corporation, the original architect-engineer for the Point Beach Nuclear Plant, to assist us in responding to this Bulletin.

Becntel has provid.ed most of the information contained in our first response to Bulletin IE 79-14, which we submitted to you under date of August 1.

The final design documentation listing has not yet been completed.

We expect to have this response by September 7.

We advised Mr. Warnick of your office of this schedule by telephone on August 31.

We trust that this short extension of time for this response will not adversely affect your review of this matter.

Very truly yours, e

A Executive Vice Preside t 3EP 6 1979
