TWO-HUNDRED-SEVENTIETH MEETING OF THE ADVISURY COMMITTEE ON REACTOR SAFEGUARDS, OCTOBER 7-8, 1982

The Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards held its 270tn meeting in Washington, DC on October 7-8, 1982.
Items considered at this :neeting are sumnurized below:
270th ACRS Meeting The Committee met with representatives of the NRC Staff and Washington Public Power Supply System to review the request for a full power Operating License f or the Washington Public Power Supply System Nuclear Project No. 2 (WNP-2).
The Committee met with members of the NRC Staff and the B&W Owners Group to discuss modeling of small break LOCAs for B&W plants and proposed changes in ECCS evaluation models.
The Committee met with representatives of the NRC Staff regarding the proposed NRC action plan for resolution of Reactor Pressure Vessel Thermal Shock.
Copies of the ACRS reports regarding items noted above have been provided to you.
The Committee was briefed by the NRC Staf f regarding the status of NRC action regarding instrumentation to detect inadequate core cooling.
The Committee also heard an NRC briefing on inservice inspection and on piping and safe-end replacement at Nine Mile Point Unit 1.
